How to create a mineral site
When locating an area to make a mineral site. Try areas where deer frequent like staging areas where deer wait just before exposing them selves in the evening. Also common deer trails or near water sources. All can be affective areas for a mineral site.
Next use a rake or shovel and clear away all debris in a 4 foot circle. You want only exposed dirt. Then place your mineral, which can be in the form of a block with many different flavors like corn, peanut butter, apple and plain salt. Also there are many different powder forms that you can even mix lightly into the soil to make it last longer. Over time deer will frequent this location the get some of the minerals they may not be getting in their normal food. You can use this as a location to hunt or best is to place a trail camera facing the site so you can see what deer may be living on your property. Try this and you will see that a mineral site is a must on the property that you hunt.
