Hello to all! My name is Justin Berg and I am a 24 year old whitetail fanatic. After being introduced to the outdoors at a very young age, I have become obsessed with hunting. I consider deer hunting to be my most favorite game to pursue but also enjoy turkey, pheasant, antelope, and elk hunting. Over the years I have been fortunate to harvest some nice whitetails with my bow with the biggest being a 17 point 151” non-typical. I have to give a majority of the credit to the area I have hunted as well as the advancement of scouting tools. Since 2002, I have used trail cameras to not only see what type of deer are around, but to also get an idea of where and when that buck might be next. I am now building my own trail cameras and will use them for as long as the law will allow me to. Well the ND Gun Season finally arrived this year and my dad was fortunate enough to draw a coveted Mule Deer buck tag for western ND. My plans were to take a week off of work to hunt the entire season out there even though I had a whitetail buck tag as well. This tag for my dad had taken him 6 years to draw so I planned on giving up my season to get him on a big muley. Well the trip was a lot of fun and my dad ended up getting a decent mule deer. He shot it on Wednesday morning so I was able to get back home to do some gun hunting with no luck. I did see lots of deer movement but never did see a shooter. The bucks are sure starting to show up on the cameras so hopefully late season bow will be good for me.
